Project: Mobile telephone antenna support steelwork on the roof of the Carphone Warehouse call centre in Acton, London.
Client: T-Mobile.
Background: Cook Fabrications have been involved in the design, fabrication and installation of mobile telephone antenna support steelwork on rooftops in the South of England, Home Counties and London since 1994. During that time, we have carried out literally hundreds of installations for most of the large service providers, including Cellnet, One 2 One, Dolphin, Orange, Vodaphone, O2, T-Mobile and Hutchison 3. We make a point of being involved in every step of each installation, so our team can iron out any problems on the way.
The task: On this particular installation, we had to work very closely with the site provider, as the steelwork support legs actually penetrated the fabric of the roof in order to gain support from the internal structure of the building. Since this is the Carphone Warehouse´s main UK call centre, we obviously had to avoid creating any leaks.
The Results: The installation was successfully completed over the course of a weekend and is now up and running.
